Exploring New Ways of Working: Building Practical AI Skills for Staff

By WFT-T

02 November 2026

As Artificial Intelligence (AI) continues to create new possibilities for how organisations work, Women Fund Tanzania is exploring how these tools can support its work and help staff carry out their responsibilities more efficiently and effectively.

On 19–20 August 2026, Women Fund Tanzania staff took part in a two-day training on “Practical AI Fundamentals for Everyday Work”, facilitated by Mbutho Chibwaye of IQBrain MH (T) Ltd. The training focused on practical ways AI can support grantmaking, administrative tasks, research, data analysis and communication.

The sessions provided staff an opportunity to practice with AI tools through real workplace scenarios including using AI to support grantmaking processes, monitoring and evaluation data, and developing practical tools that could be adapted to WFTT’s needs.

While these tools offer opportunities to improve efficiency and support decision-making, staff were reminded to remain mindful of accuracy, confidentiality and potential bias, particularly when working with sensitive information and funding decisions.

The training marks a step in WFTT’s continued efforts to strengthen staff capacity and explore new approaches to its work. With practical skills, learning resources and follow-up support in place, the team is now better equipped to explore where AI can add value to everyday operations while maintaining responsible working practices.

"We are excited to put these new skills into practice and continue learning together". Explained one of the staff

WFTT looks forward to putting these skills into practice, learning from the experience and identifying further opportunities to use technology in ways that support its work and mission.
